Seacoast launches 'S.H.O. Elite Officiating Academy'

Seacoast is proud to announce the creation of 'S.H.O. Elite Officiating Academy' to help reach out to the interested players who want to try officiating but do not have the proper guidance. Seacoast owner, Jarred Mitrano, saw the opportunity to help grow the officiating numbers after the United States saw the lowest record numbers of officials during the 2021-2022 season. Since January of 2022, Jarred has been preparing a "Beginner Level" seminar for interested candidates wanting to learn and try out the officiating side of the game.

The Academy has launched its "Beginner Level" course and accepting registrations now for the first seminar which will be held in Salem, NH at the Salem Icenter on August 3rd. The seminar will begin around 5pm and finish around 10:30pm to give the attendees over five valuable hours of in-classroom teaching and on-ice training. Styled much like an USA Hockey Officiating seminar, Jarred, a District Supervisor for MA Officiating Program and certified USA Hockey Seminar Instructor, will be teaching the classroom topics along with experienced staff that have worked NCAA to Minor Professional leagues. The seminars will conclude with on-ice training that will work on skating skills, positioning and more. The Seacoast staff are all excited to share their knowledge of the game to new incoming members to increase the officiating pool to ensure no future games goes dark heading into 2022-2023. 

In lieu of the Seminar announcement, Seacoast is excited to share its partnership with local hockey store, TSR Hockey. TSR and S.H.O. have created an online Apparel and Equipment store on Seacoast's newly designed website to offer our officials and seminar attendees low, competitive pricing on swag and gear for the upcoming season! The Association could not be more thrilled to have Brendan and Dave partner with Seacoast and offer gear and apparel at great prices! 

The first seminar on August 3rd, is limited to 30 spots! If you are interested in becoming an adult league referee but need proper guidance, we highly recommend you register below to attend our first "Beginner Level" seminar on August 3rd in Salem, NH before it is sold out!
